We just wanted to send out a BIG THANK YOU to all of you that helped Randy while he was with CORE! What a blessing each and every one of you were to him and essentially to US as a family. Even though you have plenty of other clients we always felt like Randy was the only at CORE. We are forever grateful to you for all that you have done for our family.

Thanks again for being so good at what you do. Keep up the good work because you never know whose lives and relationships you can touch!!! Read More »

One of the main tenets of neuroplasticity is that the human brain increases the number of functional connections in response to unique challenges.  Evidence for the positive effects of novelty comes not only from research with neurologically impaired individuals, but also in experimental research on creativity.  In order to capitalize on the known beneficial effects of novelty, CORE staff will be introducing novelty into every client’s therapy experience.  Some of the more familiar and traditional therapeutic / recreational activities will be replaced with a “novelty group,” whereby residents will experience new activities, outings, cuisine, etc., or participate in somewhat familiar activities in a novel way (e.g., participate in an art activity using only the non-dominant hand).  It is expected that these experiences will improve the physical and neuro-chemical functioning of the brain as well as increased quality of life through introduction to exciting new experiences.
