Individuals who suffer brain injuries, particularly to the frontal regions, often experience difficulties self-regulating attention and emotion. The psychotherapeutic staff at CORE will begin offering self-regulation training, which will teach empirically-demonstrated skills for relaxation, attentional focus, and anger management. Teaching and intensive practice of these internal strategies are expected to modify neuronal connections and minimize the need for external guidance from others for these skills.
The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) accreditation has been awarded to CORE Health Care for the Residential Rehabilitation Brain Injury Programs for Adults.
