Physical Therapy at CORE Health Care does much more than simply help a person to recover from the physical aspects of their injury or illness. At CORE, physical therapists work closely with all members of the treatment team to help the recovering individual understand their physical capabilities and make use of those abilities within their home and community. This approach is designed to take a person beyond the concept of being disabled. Simultaneously, every effort is made to help the individual accept physical exercise as an important and regular component of their future life. This is particularly imperative since recent research suggests that aerobic conditioning may play a significant role in increasing the ability of the brain to change through experience (also known as cortical plasticity).
